It is the main commercial area in Faisalabad. == History of D Ground == The idea of D ground was conceived in mid-1950s by the then government of West Pakistan. With immense inflow of the immigrants to Faisalabad from East Punjab, now in India, the residential requirements of city were skyrocketing. Government decided to make the barren land lying 5 km northeast of city center to convert into a modern residential area. The area was named Peoples Colony and D ground was designed to be one of the main central market of this colony.
